Our Pyjamas and Accessories - Brand Ethics

Here at Billy Sleeps our focus has always been to be as Eco conscious as possible, we are not perfect, but we aim to continue to expand our knowledge and protect our precious Earth whenever we can.

This means that our materials, suppliers, and manufacturers, have all been chosen carefully and share our ethics.

Many of the fabrics are handmade in small household looms which mean there may be small imperfections within the weave, along with slight colour differences between each batch, we think this adds character and should not affect the quality of the final product. Below, we have answered the most asked questions about our materials.

ORGANIC BAMBOO SILK

Our bamboo silk is certified OEKO-TEST 100 I STANDARD, this means that each part of the item is certified as being free from any harmful substances.  For more information on Oeko-Test certifications please read the article on the official OEKO-TEX website here.

It is produced in a closed loop system; this ensures that any waste created during the production process is then recycled and put back into the production and used again within the production line.

Much like traditional silk it is soft, smooth, and luxurious without the cruelty and use of animal products. Our bamboo silk is also 100% biodegradable and causes no environmental damage in the process, it is biodegraded by the presence of CO2 and H20 within the soil, along with a bit of help from the sun! Great, ey?

Bamboo silk is a highly absorbent and breathable material, due to the way the fibre is created "micro-gaps" are present, making it perfect for any time of year, particularly during the summer months! It also has anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic properties making it safe for even the most sensitive of skin.

Our bamboo is grown in the Sichuan province and the production in the Hebei Province.

How to care for Bamboo Silk:
